No visit to Bath Spa would be complete without a tour of the Pump Rooms and Roman Baths, however, there is more to enjoy besides. The Theatre Royal, pictured, is one of the most beautiful in Britain and the hotel always has two of the best seats for every Saturday night’s performance.

Shopping has always been a popular pursuit in the city, plus Bath also has an impressive Abbey and a number of fascinating museums. The magnificent gardens of Stourhead, Longleat House and Estate plus the prehistoric sites at Avebury and Stonehenge are all within easy reach.

The hotel also has a vintage river launch; the 11 metre Lady Sophina is an immaculately varnished mahogany and teak boat aboard which guests can cruise along the picturesque Kennet and Avon waterway.

The attractions of Bath are legion and also include the new Thermae Bath Spa, Badminton Horse Trials, Bath Rugby Club, Bath Film Festival, Bath International Music Festival, Bath Fringe Festival, Bath Literature Festival, Victoria Art Gallery, Kingswood School and Royal High School and the Theatre Royal Bath. In August, there is the glorious Bristol Balloon Fiesta, in November the Bath Mozartfest, now acknowledged as one of the most outstanding music festivals in the United Kingdom and at the beginning of December each year, there is the famous Bath Christmas Market when the centre of Bath is literally transformed into a Christmas shopping and entertainment experience.

In July each year, the Taste of Bath Festival gives visitors the opportunity to try sample-sized signature dishes from a selection of the best restaurants in Bath and the South West, including of course, The Dower House at The Royal Crescent - all in the beautiful Royal Victoria Park - just below The Royal Crescent.
