What times are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3.30pm, although you're welcome to arrive earlier and drop off your luggage. 

Check-out is at 11am, but we're happy to look after your luggage if you have plans for the day. 

Where is The Royal Crescent?

You'll find our magnificent hotel at the centre of one of Europe’s most splendid 18th-century architectural masterpieces – the Royal Crescent in Bath.

We're just ten minutes' stroll from the city centre and Bath Spa railway station. The city of Bath is a hive of activity with unlimited shopping opportunities, wine bars and restaurants.

It's also an ideal base from which to explore nearby places of interest such as the Cotswolds, Wells, Stonehenge and Longleat House.

Topland Group is one of the largest privately owned international investment groups and has been the caring custodian of The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa since 2012.

Who designed The Royal Crescent?

The Royal Crescent was designed by architect John Wood the Younger and was built between 1767 and 1774.

How old is The Royal Crescent?

Built between 1767 and 1775 and designed by John Wood the Younger, it remains to this day one of the greatest pieces of Georgian architecture in the UK. Number 16 Royal Crescent became a guest house in 1950 and in 1971 was combined with number 15 to become The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa.

How far are you from the city centre?

We are a pleasant five-minute stroll to the central high street of Bath.

Can we bring the children?

The Royal Crescent welcomes younger guests.

Our Head Chef Martin Blake has designed a healthy, child-friendly menu for the Montagu's Mews Garden Rooms and if your little ones have a favourite meal, just ask!

With your permission, we can also put a toy basket in your room.

Extra bed policy 

Extra beds for children can be accommodated in Heritage rooms, Master rooms or Suites.

Extra beds for children from 3 years up to 11 years old have a charge of £50 per child, per night.

Children from 12 to 16 years old can be accommodated on a sofa bed in our Master Rooms and Deluxe Suites, charged at £150 per child, per night. We also have interconnecting rooms available. 

Ages 17 and above are considered adults and will be charged accordingly.

Other items such as cots for babies and toddlers up to 2 years old, bathrobes and high chairs are also available at no additional charge.

We are delighted to make special arrangements for room fridges for storing children’s drinks, food and medicines. Just let us know in advance.

Spa Policy

Until Sunday 3rd September 2023, children aged 12 and over are welcome to enjoy the pool, children aged 16 and over may also book treatments.

From Monday 4th September 2023

Children 15 years and under may use the pool during school holidays only (please check applicable dates) between 9am to 10am and 4pm to 5pm daily subject to availability. Outside of these times, The Spa & Bath House is for our adult guests, members and children aged 16 and over.
Due to limited capacity, child places should be booked in advance. These are subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Do you have a babysitting or nanny service?

We work closely with the specialist nannying services, Norland Nannies, whose student nannies can babysit your children while you are out at dinner, on an adults-only activity, or at an event.

These highly recommended nannies can come to your room to babysit, or even come along to an event with you - a perfect option for weddings where you want your children to be present but closely attended to throughout.

Can we bring our dog - or even a cat?

At The RCH, we are delighted to welcome the whole family and that includes your feline and canine family members too!

There will be a charge of £35 per pet per stay. A maximum of two pets per room are permitted. Our six designated pet-friendly rooms include one Heritage Room, three Master Rooms and two Deluxe Suites. These rooms are subject to availability.

All pet friendly rooms enjoy direct access onto a private courtyard or onto our one acre of secluded gardens.

We kindly request that pets are kept on a lead at all times in the hotel grounds. Pets are not permitted in the Restaurant, Public Rooms or The Spa & Bath House and Taittinger Spa Garden. Dogs are permitted to come to the bar with their owners.

No pets are allowed in our Deluxe Rooms or Master Suites.

Does The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa serve food?

We do! Discover award-winning dishes at our Montagu's Mews Restaurant, enjoy a refreshing drink in the delightful Montagu's Mews Bar & Terrace or treat yourself to the ultimate indulgence – afternoon tea in our perfect English garden.

Is The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa available for exclusive use?

Yes, the hotel can be hired on an exclusive-use basis for weddings, parties and corporate events. Please contact our Events team by emailing events@royalcrescent.co.uk

Is The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa a wedding venue?

It is! You can get married in the exceptional setting of The Royal Crescent. Our team of experienced event organisers are on hand to help you every romantic step of the way.

Is there parking available at The Royal Crescent?

Yes, we offer complimentary valet parking to our resident guests who book directly with the hotel, either on the phone or through the website. Please note parking and valet parking is limited and will be subject to availability on the day of arrival.

We recommend dropping off your bags at the hotel and checking with our concierge for availability. If our car park is not available, we recommend Charlotte Street Car Park.

Is there electric vehicle charging at The Royal Crescent?

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa is proud to be one of the only hotels in Bath to offer free Tesla charging - and charging for other electric vehicles - for hotel guests.

We offer complimentary valet parking to all guests who book directly. Simply hand your keys to the concierge and enjoy the delights of the hotel while we take care of recharging your electric vehicle.

Please note that parking is limited and will be subject to availability on the day of arrival.

Bath is now a designated Clean Air Zone - the first in the UK outside of London!
